Nicki Minaj’s Brother, Jelani Maraj Sentenced To 25 Years In Prison For Raping His Stepdaughter
Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for repeatedly raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter.
Jelani who was handed his jail sentence by Judge Robert McDonald in a New York court on Monday, January 27, was found guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
Though Nicki Minaj’s brother repeatedly denied the allegations, claiming the story was concocted to extort his famous younger sister, his stepdaughter took the stand in a 2017 trial to narrate how he raped her in their Baldwin home while he was married to her mother.
He was sentenced to 25 years in prison, two years after a jury handed down the guilty verdict for the sexual abuse which began in 2015.

Legendary singer, Angelique Kidjo on Sunday night beat Burna Boy and a host of others to win the Best World Music Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards that held in Staples Center, Los Angeles.
Angelique Kidjo didn’t only just receive the award but graciously dedicated it to Burna Boy in recognition of the hard work the Nigerian artiste put in over the last year.
“This is for Burna Boy, [he] is among those young artists [who] came from Africa [who] are changing the way our continent is perceived, and the way African music has been the bed rock for every [type] of music,” she remarked.

Burna Boy Loses Grammy Award To Angelique Kidjo
The hopes of thousands of Nigerian music fans for a second Grammy for the country this year have been dashed as Angelique Kidjo has beaten Burna Boy to the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary World Music Album.
Burna Boy had been nominated in the category for his acclaimed album ‘African Giant’.
Although he was up against seasoned Angelique Kidjo, Nathalie Joachim with Spektral Quartet, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley and, Altin Gün, many fans were certain this would be his year.
It wasn’t to be as the Recording Academy opted to hand Kidjo her fourth Best Contemporary World Music Album gong for her album “Celia”.

A win for Burna would have made it the second time a Nigerian would be returning home with the Grammy plaque.
