I Can’t Marry A Poor Man – Linda Ikeji

linda ikeji

Popular Nigerian blogger and media entrepreneur Linda Ikeji, has revealed the kind of man she wants to get married to.

36-year-old Linda, when asked if she has been getting proposals from suitors and qualities her kind of man must possess, said:

“I’m getting quite a lot of proposals. You know people say when a woman is successful, men run away, it’s a lie, that is when they chase you the more. But unfortunately, I haven’t seen what I’m looking for. To be honest, I keep telling people, it’s not like men are scarce, it’s the type of man some of us are looking for that is scarce, if I want to marry next year I can, but he would not be the kind of man I want.

“I want a man that I can look up to, someone that inspires me, someone that would push me, someone that would motivate me, somebody that has had some success in his own career path, then I can look up to him and be like “wow”, a man that teaches me and I can learn from. I’m inspired by successful people, someone like Tyler Perry, I can’t wait to meet him.

“I can’t marry a poor guy, I’m being honest about it, no I can’t, he doesn’t have to be very rich but let him be successful in his own way. You may come across some successful men but there is something wrong there, so the whole package is what I’m looking for.

“When I was like 30-years old, my standards were very high, extremely high, but I wasn’t looking at marrying, I was just focused on work because I’ve always been so ambitious that I wasn’t focusing on marriage or kids. I felt like I should just do what I wanted to do. It was just recently that I began to think about marriage, and to be honest, my requirements are only three now.

“He must be successful, he must be a good man, in the sense that he must be supportive of me, if he tries to stifle me then I’m out. Lastly, he has to be a man that likes sex and must be very good at it”, she stated.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BIAFRANS Referendum is not a matter of voter’s card. Those of you that expressed concern over the possession of VOTER’S CARD should take note. Voice voting is allowed in referendum. Plebiscite is different from/than election. Some of you are in a hurry to display your ignorance in a showcase by asking us whether we have registered. Very funny. I agree that the IPOB has to formulate a template for the expected referendum. Cosmos George Oto’Obong ‘s Ibibio, which includes Southern Cameroon, have gone very far in formulating an internationally recognized MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING. The MOU from all the ethnic groups that make up Biafra will be the STRUCTURE on ground for the expected SECESSION. The Ijaw group is working on its own now. We expect the Igbo, which may include Orashi in Rivers State, to work on theirs soonest. You can see that we know what we are doing. Any group that feels it would rather be alone is free to externalize its MOU in accordance with the model of the Ibibio. The Ogoni Bill of Rights is the MOU for the Ogoni people in this project. The only change I envisage in the different MOUs will be the interest of the group; that is, what it wants from the Republic. The MOU must contain; 1) a brief history of the group and its resolve to join Biafra 2) an agreement for sharing formula – locality, provinces, and the Republic 3) free education 4) rotational presidency and tenure 5) the devolution of power from governors and the President to a Body of Experts for financial management of Provinces and the Republic 6) an attached letter of approval from international communities ratifying the interest of each group 7) WELFARE PACKAGE for every indigene etc. NOTE: To gain international acceptance, each interested group must document its history and EXPRESSION OF INTEREST for Biafra Republic and send same to the international body. All the interested groups must sit together and formally agree to birth Biafra on the documented principles. My Ijaw group is working on theirs. I hope my Igbo brothers and sisters are doing same. The STRUCTURE is as important as the rallies that have been staged in different regions. Abel Simeon and others will formulate the Ijaw MOU and ensure that it goes to the IYC, Chiefs and elders for approval. Other groups should start writing theirs. This is what is called the STRUCTURE ON GROUND FOR BIAFRA. Tari Nemi , Ogoun Tari , and Kelvin Braide shall actively participate in the formulation. When we take the MOU to our community associations, Chiefs, youth bodies, IYC etc they will be allowed to make inputs. I expect the Igbo to start working on theirs right away. Work on it and take it round for ratification and input. Thanks to George Cosmos Oto’Obong and Abel Simeon for the reminder. All hail Biafra. It is time for tactical work. The programmes lined up for the full preparation of the non-Igbo Niger Delta region, my own region, will be taken care of soon. The TV and radio programmes are being worked on. We want to ensure that we operate within the confines of established rules of the IPOB. The African Representative and Rivers’ Team, IPOB, are trying to fine tune arrangements for takeoff. Please watch out for our facebook live broadcasts titled, THE SOUTH-SOUTH IN THE REINVIGORATED AGITATION FOR THE RESTORATION OF BIAFRA: CHALLENGES AND SOLUTION. Follow Prince Dan to watch the panelists do justice to this knotty topic. The last episode was well viewed and calls came in from various nations. We shall be live on Thursday, August 3, 2017. You will be informed again. Good morning to you all. Russell Idatoru Bluejack River’s Team Leader, IPOB

MTN Tested 5G In Nigeria Without License In Abuja, Lagos, Calabar; First Trial Powered By Huawei, Others

A lot of Nigerians are not aware or may have forgotten that MTN Nigeria had successfully conducted a 5G network trial in Nigeria following a successful one in South Africa.

The Telco giant may have carried out the demo without license since The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, on Saturday disclosed that no licence has been issued for Fifth Generation Mobile Networks popularly known as 5G in Nigeria.

Recently, opinions from several persons, professionals in the field of Information Technology, celebrities and clerics on the effects of 5G network is gradually making a lot of people around the world to believe a theoretical conspiracy which blames the lunch of 5G network as the cause of Covid-19 pandemic across the world.

These theoretical conspiracies linking Covid-19 virus and 5G network have been more prominent in The United Kingdom, United State of America and some Asian countries. The conspiracies led to a revolt against British 5G towers and a lot of them are being set on fire because of coronavirus conspiracy theories.

Former Nigerian Senator Dino Melaye and Pastor Chris Oyahkilome are part of the public figures who have made these conspiracies spread in Nigeria. Dino Melaye described 5G network as evil, stated that it kills the immune system, affects the respiratory system, causes cancer and hypertension and indirectly causing the deaths of Coronavirus patients. He also claims there are 5G masts in Abuja and Ikeja in Lagos State.

In the wake of these conspiracies and the debunk of issuance of 5G network licence by FG, the announcement made by MTN Nigeria, dated November 28, 2019, claiming to be the first in Nigeria and the whole West Africa to conduct a trial of the 5G technology is being circulated on social media. See the public announcement below;

Initiation was before 2019/2020.

In 2018, during a ₦200 billion loan facility signing by MTN Nigeria, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Adekunle Awobodu pointed out the possibility of conducting a 5G network trial.

True to his words, MTN commenced its 5G network trial in Abuja, Nigeria on Monday November 25, 2019, a first for any country in West Africa. The Telco Giant also revealed that their trial will go beyond Abuja, promised to conduct network trials in two other locations in Nigeria: Calabar and Lagos. The network testing in Abuja was powered by Huawei. Calabar and Lagos are powered by ZTE and Ericsson respectively.

Speaking during the trial in Abuja, former Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Executive Vice Chairman, Ernest Ndukwe — who is also a board member of MTN Nigeria — expressed his delight in the fact that Nigeria is one of the countries championing 5G trial on the continent.

I’ve No Regrets Killing My Mother-In-Law — Housewife

The entire Abena community in Doma Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, is in mourning mood since a housewife, Rosemary Osegba Chem, hacked her mother-in-law, Mrs Ashi Chem, to death over the latter’s alleged undue interference in the former’s marriage.

Sensing that her marriage to Mr Abaagu Chem was on the verge of collapse on account of her mother-in-law’s undue influence, Rosemary decided that the only way to save her marriage was to kill her mother-in-law.

Rosemary had got married to Chem, a farmer and petty trader, in February 2016, but the marriage was yet to produce a child. Now 43 years old, Mr. Chem, the only son of his parents, had lost his father when he was only 18 years old.

Chem’s mother was said not to have hidden her objection to her son’s marriage with Rosemary from day one. Although Chem was madly in love with his heartthrob, his mother allegedly swore never to allow the marriage to work.

Since Chem defied her mother to marry Rosemary, there has been no love lost between his wife and his mother. Every petty matter was easily amplified into a major issue, resulting in a quarrel and physical combat in many cases.

In the circumstance, Chem’s mother allegedly mounted pressure on her son to take another wife, describing Rosemary as a witch because of her inability to give birth to a child three years after she got married to Chem. She also allegedly threatened to curse her son if he failed to end his union with Rosemary.

The pressure was said to have become so much that Chem was beginning to yield to his mother’s bidding. Faced with the grim reality of losing her marriage, Rosemary fetched an axe in the early hours of Saturday, March 18, 2020, walked into her mother-in-law’s room and hacked her to death in her asleep.

The Nation correspondent, who visited Abena community immediately he learnt about the incident, met the old woman in a pool of blood.

‘Why I killed her’

Asked why she decided to take her mother-in-law’s life, Rosemary said the deceased woman was a threat to her marriage. She narrated how her mother-in-law called her names and wanted to chase her out of her matrimonial home simply because she was yet to give birth to a child after three years.

She said: “My mother-in-law made life unbearable for me because I could not bear a child for her son. It has been hell for me from day one of this marriage. My mother-in-law did everything humanly possible for me to leave the marriage.

“She always swore that if indeed she was my husband’s mother, she would not allow the marriage to work. I did everything humanly possible to appease her, but it was all to no avail.”

“She insisted that I must leave the house and that her son must get married to another girl. True to her threats, she went as far as getting another girl for my husband.

“I also blame my husband for telling his mother everything about our private matters, including sex, finance and other issues. My husband always complained that I refused him sex most times, even though I told him that I’m not the type that likes to have sex all the time.

“I don’t have sexual feelings like other women because I was circumcised. But I told him I loved him. We had sex only once in a week, but he couldn’t bear it, and he told his mother who had already developed hatred for me about it.

“My husband decided to focus his attention on the new girlfriend his mother brought for him. Most times, the girl would spend a whole week in my mother-in-law’s apartment with the consent of my husband. When I could no longer bear it, I took the decision to eliminate her so that I can save my marriage.

“I still love my husband and cannot afford to share him with anybody. It is God that gives children. I strongly believe that one day, I will also take in and deliver. It is all in God’s hands.

“She accused me openly of cheating on his son by calling me all sorts of names, which is embarrassing to me. I was ashamed of myself even moving around. I don’t know what I did to her. The trauma and

intimidation became unbearable for me, so I was forced to kill her before she would disgrace me out of my husband’s house.

“My parents are no longer alive. If she gets me out of this marriage, where will I go? Ordinarily, I don’t have much problem with my husband. We always have a way of settling our issues. But her interference was overbearing.

“In the midst of these, my husband, who used to love me so much suddenly changed and was completely obeying his mom’s directives and I watched him sleep with the proposed girl by his mother, it was clear that he does not have feelings for me anymore.

I took the decision (to kill her) because I was ready for the worst. The marriage had become boring and characterized by crisis, courtesy of my mother in law.

“At a point, it became obvious to me that the marriage had irretrievably broken up. I suggested to my husband that since he was convinced by what his mother was telling him, he should let us call it over and I would move on, but he refused. So I concluded that killing her would stabilise my marriage and restore my happiness.

“I hatched the plan for some time but only made up my mind to execute it today.”

Why I yielded to my mother’s promptings — Husband

Rosemary insisted that she had no regrets whatsoever for her action and was prepared for the worst, adding that she had not known peace since she got married to Chem.

But Chem, who looked so confused over the turn of events, told our correspondent that he loved his mum a lot. “She taught me to be the man that I am today—strong, kind and someone who believed in giving a second chance.

“When my father died, things were not easy, but this woman stood by me to survive the trauma.

“I am really hurt and traumatised by the violent and horrifying act she committed.

“My mother was compassionate and caring. Never did I doubt her unconditional love for me. She had taught me to dream and ultimately to live unselfishly.

“My mother was not wicked or cold-blooded as my wife is painting her. I used to tell her to be calm, but she refused. What does she want me to do? To fight my mother who gave birth to me?

“Now that she has killed my mother, she will be the one to tell me what she wants, and at the appropriate time, I will battle it out with her. I won’t take it lightly.”
