Arsenal bounce back from their last defeat to Manchester City to put two goals past hapless Tottenham at the Emirate on Saturday.
Goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez provided Arsenal with the derby day joy.
Spurs’ miserable North London derby record on the road continued when Mustafi headed home a precise free-kick from Mesut Ozil on 36 minutes.
And the Gunners didn’t have to wait long to double their lead as Sanchez fired into the roof of the net from close range on 41 minutes after Alexandre Lacazette fired a cross into the box.
The victory lifts Arsene Wenger’s men to fifth in the league – Liverpool could re-take that spot when they play later on Saturday – and reduces the gap to Tottenham to just one point.
