BREAKING: IPOB Delegates Invited To UN Finally Speak On Their Meeting With World Leaders

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Friday finally give a hint of it recent visit to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, saying the encounter would go a long way towards cementing diplomatic relationship with the international community.

The IPOB delegation was led by its deputy leader, Mazi Uche Mefor on September 14, the same day the pro Biafra group remembered the victims of the invasion of the home of IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at Isiama- Afaraukwu, Umuahia in Abia State.

Although, the group said it was not at liberty to divulge every detail of what transpired during the encounter, stated that the world had officially been placed on notice that IPOB, as a movement, was determined to carve a separate existence for the people of Biafra, comprising South East/South South, away from Nigeria.

A statement by the IPOB media and publicity secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, said it was the first time in the post war history of Biafra that the leadership of any group, movement or people met with the United Nations face to face to discuss the issue of Biafra.


The statement read: “It was a historic encounter that will go a long way in cementing the diplomatic credentials of IPOB in the eyes of the international community.

“It was the very first time that United Nations had the opportunity to host Biafrans to a meeting and it is only appropriate that we appreciate all those working tirelessly with our diplomatic team based in London to accomplish this feat.

“We commend the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (DOS-IPOB) under the leadership of Mazi Chika Edoziem, who accompanied our deputy leader to the historical meeting.

“The historic encounter with United Nations officials in Geneva has opened up avenues and opportunities for further engagement between IPOB and relevant UN agencies on the burning issues of human rights violations by the Buhari regime and enforcement of IPOB’s universal right to self determination.

“With this meeting satisfactorily concluded, IPOB has gone where no other group of leaders before it dared go to. It will forever be recorded that for nearly 50 years and for the very first time in the history of Biafra, an interface was facilitated between representatives of the people of Biafra IPOB and the United Nations.”

The organization, however, regretted that the Kanu family was denied representation at the meeting because the Swiss Embassy denied the family entry visa to Switzerland.

    IPOB is turning biafra struggle as child play, all this fake news start from Facebook and end up in Facebook. If United nation invites IPOB why we have not seen the news on CNN BBC news AL jazaala etc or even on Google?

    Biafra land end in the south-east and no where else if try bringing it to the South-south Niger Delta that’s to say you guys are not serious of having your Igbo Biafra freedom you are only pretending you want freedom we the south-south are not Biafra and we don’t want to be one thank you.

      Onyeri Uchenna Chukwunanu reason because we the people in South-south has all it takes to own a country of our own you don’t expect us with our level of education already British colonized colony to start given support to people that don’t have one third of what we have that to say we are telling the Igbo man Ignorantly to come and re- colonized us that was both colonized by the British government it doesn’t make any sense that’s to say we are indirectly saying we didn’t learn from the British don’t forget we went to the same school of independent.

      Did anyone invit you ? You always remember Niger delta whenever biafra is mentioned, I suggest You Google BIAFRA map 1967 you can go with your south south or Niger delta, but stay away from BIAFRA official map 1967.

      Bartholomew Akpaka Chimex we have already do away with that Ojukwu fraudulent old map of Biafra that’s why we are categorically telling you our land in the south south does not belong to the Igbo Biafra and we are not part of your Biafra struggle thank you.
