VIDEO: el-Rufai Joins ‘Fvck You’ Challenge

Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, has joined the viral fvck you challenge, kicked off by popular Nigerian artist Kizz Daniel.

The governor, who was in the company of a traditional ruler, and other dignitaries, jumped on the Young Jon beat to the delight of many at the event.

The master of ceremony initiated the move by rapping to the the viral beat, before handing over the microphone to el-Rufai.

The former minister of FCT was quick to jump on the beat with lyrics from the Nigerian national anthem.

The governor, definitely, did not say ‘fvck you’ at any point in the lyrical stunt.

Many Nigerian artistes have seized the challenge in addressing some social issues, including the END SARS movement.

Ruggedman made a stinging cover of the Kizz Daniel’s “Fvck You”, calling on police officers to treat fellow Nigerians better.

Edo Assembly Swears In 12 APC Members In An Undisclosed Location

Twelve members of the Edo state house of Assembly loyal to the All Progressives Congress, APC have been sworn-in on Wednesday at an undisclosed location in Edo state.

It will be recalled that the Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki ordered a ‘renovation’ of the Edo state house of assembly on Wednesday afternoon in order to quell an alleged plot to impeach him.

For several months now, Obaseki has actively worked to prevent the inauguration of the lawmakers in order to maintain ‘control’ over the assembly.

Following a fallout with his predecessor, Adams Oshiomole, Obaseki ensured that the lawmakers were not inaugurated in order to prevent Oshiomhole’s loyalists from taking control of the state legislature.

Edo Assembly Shut Down, Roofs Removed As Obaseki Fingers Oshiomhole, Uzodinma In Police Invasion

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has accused his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole, and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, of being responsible for the police invasion of the state’s House of Assembly on Thursday.

Obaseki accused Oshiomhole and Uzodinma of trying to cause tension in Edo ahead of the September 19 governorship election in the state.

The governor spoke to BBC Pidgin through his media aide, Crusoe Osagie, on Thursday.

Obaseki and the Edo Assembly Speaker were said to have stormed the complex and ordered the police out of the premises to prevent “forceful takeover” of the assembly.

According to reports, the speaker subsequently gave an order of no entry into the assembly complex.

It was learnt that shortly after Obaseki and the speaker left the complex, some trucks started to deliver stones and sands at the premises.

Some youths were also seen pulling down the roofs of the assembly complex to indicate commencement of renovation work at the premises.

Edo Deputy Speaker Impeached

The deputy speaker of the Edo House of Assembly Yekini Idiaye has been impeached on Wednesday.

Idiaye is the lawmaker representing Akoko-Edo Constituency I in the assembly.

His impeachment by lawmakers in the assembly comes days after he declared support for Osagie Ize-Iyamu, an opponent to the current governor Godwin Obaseki in the Edo State governorship election.
