Former presidential aide and pastor at the Mind of Christ Christian Center, Reno Omokri on Tuesday said Jesus is not God.
Omokri revealed that his journey into the study of pre-European Christianity has made him realised that the belief that “Jesus is God” is a European concept.
He said that there is a huge difference between the Bible and Scriptures, noting that Scriptures are the original scripts written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek while the Bible is a European version of the Scriptures which had been modified to suit their purposes.
He also said that the real name of the son of God is not Jesus but Yeshu’a.
Omokri’s exact words: “Some of the names/doctrines you read in The Bible have been changed. In fact, there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE between The Bible and The Scriptures. The Bible is a SANITISED (for their purposes) European version of The Scriptures.
“The Scriptures are the original scripts written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. I wish Christians can be like Muslims in that we read The Scriptures in the ORIGINAL LANGUAGE.
“I went to Israel, Ethiopia, Rome, Turkey and Greece to study pre-European Christianity. If I say what I discovered, I will be labelled an anti Christ. But let me just say that the Son of God who lived on Earth 2000 years ago is Yeshu’a, not Jesus and He never claimed to be God.
“As a matter of fact, He came to show us the Way to God because He Yeshua, is the only Way to God. He is the everlasting Melchizedek High Priest. The Mediator between God and man. But He is NOT God. That is a European concept.
He continued: “Let me shock you. Yeshua came to show us the Way to God because He, Yeshua, is the ONLY Way to God. He is the everlasting Melchizedek High Priest. The ONLY Mediator between God and man. But He is NOT the Almighty God. That is a European concept.
“Yeshua never claimed to be God. Many Christians read John 1:1 in The Bible (not the Scriptures) and use that to claim that Yeshua is God.
“I will urge you to get the original Greek Scriptures (see the attached picture) and even if you can’t read Greek, just study that verse.
“This is the verse in pure Greek (Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος, καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν, καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος). Here is the verse in Latin, which may be easier for laymen (In principio erat Verbum, et Verbum erat apud Deum, et Deus erat Verbum).
“Notice the words DEUM and DEUS are used to describe the first and second mention of God. Although you may not be able to read Greek, what John 1:1 says when translated without changing the words used for God is this “in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with Theon and the Word was Theos”.
“The original Scriptures did not use the same word for the first mention of God and the second mention. The word used in the first mention is THEON (which refers to the Almighty. The word in the second mention is THEOS which is what is used to refer to Yeshua.
“This is why Scripture says “my people perish for lack of knowledge”-Hosea 4:6.
“The name of the Son of God is Yeshua. Jesus is not a TRANSLATION of Yeshua. It is a VERSION.
“I do not know what will happen to those who use the name Jesus. Even me, I use Jesus publicly to teach, although privately and in the church I Pastor, I use Yeshua. I do so because I am a coward. I was afraid of being called an anti-Christ.”
Security Operatives Use Knife, Bottle To Shave Hair Of Peaceful #RevolutionNow Protester [Photos]
Security operatives deployed to disperse members of #RevolutionNow movement in Abuja have shaved off the hair of a protester with a knife and broken bottle.
The victim revealed that the officers asked him to prostrate on the floor before one of them pulled out a knife while another used a broken bottle to cut off his dreadlocks and shave his hair.
The young man said that the security agents harassed him for wearing “brown hair’ since he was not a woman.
Another protester with bruises on his back, Damilare Ademola, said he was dehumanised and battered by the security operatives for taking part in the protest to demand better governance from the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said he was flogged with iron and chain and kicked to the ground for no reason.
He said, “I was beaten by more than four soldiers and policemen. They slapped me several times and kicked me with boots. They also collected my phone and did not return it to me.
“It is unfortunate that this government does not accommodate civic space. There is no freedom of speech in Nigeria again.”

Dozens Of #RevolutionNow Protesters Arrested In Abuja
Dozens of #RevolutionNow protesters in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja were arrested by security agents on Wednesday.
The protest, it was learnt, was to hold at the Federal Secretariat but was later moved to the Transcorp Junction around Unity Fountain, Abuja.
From around 8am, it was observed armed security operatives, including the Police, the Military and DSS among others, patrolled the area in a convoy of trucks.
At about 9am, some protesters, who turned up around the Unity Fountain, were arrested by security operatives and taken away in their trucks.
The protests eventually held at various locations of the FCT, it was gathered.
Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, alleged 62 protesters were arrested.
“We are back to the Abacha days and this is most unfortunate. We are back to a time again in our national life when the government of the day has criminalized peaceful protests.
“Today we witnessed flogging, beating, harassing and arresting of peaceful protesters in the nation’s capital by a joint task force of security agencies.
“Many of us begin to wonder if this is what our democracy has come to be. It is most regrettable and unfortunate.
But this is the sad and painful reality that we have found ourselves today. Alas this is where we are as a nation,” Adeyanju said.
At Berger Junction, another location of the protests, one of the protesters, Pelumi Olajengbesin, a lawyer, said: “Our demand today is that there is need for us to have a conscious political revolution.
“There is a need for us to have a change of leadership. There is a need for us to have people who have clear focus, who have passion and the welfare of the interest of the people. This cannot be achieved by the political conglomeration of charlatans in authority.
“There is need for us to allow people who are determined and who have the interest of the people to take over leadership and that is why we are saying no to APC, no to PDP and no to all the rascals in political authority.
“I want to call on all Nigerians that nobody should feel so comfortable in their bedrooms. Nobody should feel so comfortable in their houses, because this country is not safe, this country is not secure. Nobody is secure.
“Even in Nigeria today police and soldiers are not secured. Even today, Generals cannot walk alone on the street.
“I want us to know that if we don’t take our future in our hands, if we don’t take our destiny in our hands, this country would continue to remain like this.
“There is no single sector in the Nigerian social system that is working today. If you look at the educational system, it is in shambles, if you look at the economy, it is in a total mess.
“This is because we have people who lack focus, who lack direction, who lack sympathy and who are selfish in positions of authority and that is why I myself as a legal practitioner, as someone who believes in the Revolution Now struggle have come out to identify with this cause.”
