PDP Mocks Buhari Over Aisha Villa Drama

Published

The country’s main opposition political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has reacted to the recent drama between wife of the President, Aisha Buhari and daughters of Mamman Daura, Buhari’s nephew.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan on Tuesday, PDP described the “public fight” as disgraceful.

The statement reads:

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) describes the dirty public fight between the First Lady, Aisha Buhari and President Muhammadu Buhari’s cousins, over rooms in the Presidential villa, as disgraceful and further underlines the managerial ineptitude and leadership failures of the Buhari Presidency

“The party says the chaos in the Villa further exposes the Buhari Presidency’s poor management of issues and highlights why it has failed monumentally in delivering on any of its responsibilities in governance, thus leaving our dear nation in a shambolic situation in the last five years.

“The feud further uncovers the impunity, disorderliness and vanity that pervade the Buhari Presidency and how the once serious and productive seat of power has been turned into a house of comedy and an overcrowded quarter for illegal occupants.

“Nigerians can now see why it has become difficult for our nation to witness any stability or progress under the Buhari Presidency and why the Buhari-led Federal Government has been bedeviled by confusion, infighting, policy flip-flops, statutory violations, promotion of violence, ingrained corruption and administrative indolence while millions of Nigerians wallow in poverty and neglect.

“Nigerians and the world can equally see why no one expects the Buhari Presidency to articulate any progressive idea or proffer and implement any solution to the myriad of economic and security problems it caused our nation; they can now see why there is no hope in sight and why compatriots are daily agitating for a new order.

“Our party notes that our dear nation has suffered enough disgrace from the Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC). The PDP therefore charges President Buhari to immediately apologize to Nigerians for his failures and be ready to vacate office for more competent hands, since it has become obvious that he is leading our country to nowhere.

“Furthermore, the PDP urges the National Assembly to investigate the alleged abuse of office by President Buhari following revelation that he assigns official facilities in the Presidential villa to unauthorized persons that have no official roles in governance, and apply appropriate sanctions.

“The PDP also urges the National Assembly to sanitize the Presidential villa by probing allegations of illegal allotment of offices and apartments to unauthorized persons, including scammers and corruption fronts in Aso Rock.

“The party however urges Nigerians to remain calm as such provocative and disgraceful developments will soon come to an end with the retrieval of our stolen mandate at the Supreme Court.”

PDP needs to realize that as a major party in the country, they do not have to win the Presidency to contribute to the economic development, security, job creation in the country. The worn election as Governors, Senate, House of Representatives and this gave them mandate to help move the country forward. If they have no idea as to how to be ab opposition party, they should copy from the United States where the Democrats focus on how to move the country forward. Issues like what happens in Aso Rock is so trivial for a political party to comment on. Such comments contribute nothing to the issues facing the nation.
As long as the PDP produced Governors, Senators House of Representatives during the last election they owe the electorates the duty to discharged promises made to them to be elected. Voters don’t benefit from criticism year after year but productivity from all parties.

S/Court Judgement: Mysterious Owl Attacks Gov Ortom Inside Church

Published

on

Shortly after the Supreme Court of Nigeria affirmed the election of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, he was unexpectedly attacked at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Makurdi, by a mysterious owl.

According to Daily Post, Ortom was in the church for a special thanksgiving service, when the strange bird attacked.

An eyewitness, Prince Tordue Abe, narrated how the bird, on Tuesday night, found its way into the Church, the exact time the Governor was giving his testimonies and went straight to the altar where Ortom was kneeling down for his testimonies.

But for the prompt efforts of some youths, the night bird, which is superstitiously believed to be a witchcraft bird, would have landed on the Governor’s head.

“It happened few minutes ago while the Governor was on his kneels praying at the Redeemed Christian Church Makurdi.

“An Owl flew in and headed right towards the direction of the Governor. On sighting the Governor the owl bowed before the Governor and together we rushed and killed it.

“Whatever it was they planned against the Governor, the Holy Spirit brought it to a halt.

“Indeed Governor Ortom is not just a man of God but a powerful man of God,” Abe said.

The apex court had on Tuesday delivered judgement in an appeal brought before it by Barr. Emmanuel Jime of the All Progressive Congress (APC), challenging the decision of the Court of Appeal to have upheld the election of Ortom, who contested under the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 9, 2019 guber election in Benue.

In a 30-second judgement delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuata, the Supreme Court reaffirmed the victory of Governor Ortom, saying, “The judgement of the Tribunal and Court of Appeal need not to be disturbed”.

Supreme Court Verdict On Imo: Jonathan, Wike Challenged For Keeping Mum

A group, PDP Renaissance, has challenged former President Goodluck Jonathan as well as the Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, to speak up against the recent Supreme Court’s judgment that sacked the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo state, declaring Hope Uzodinma of the ruling All Progressive Congress Governor of Imo state.

The group, in a statement on Wednesday, said the continued silence of the two party leaders is unacceptable.

According to the group, the two party leaders must speak up against injustice meted on a fellow party member as silence would pass for patting the unjust doer on the back.

According to the statement, “Our attention has been drawn to the grave silence from former President Goodluck Jonathan and Rivers Governor Barr. Nyesom Wike on the controversial Supreme Court ruling that sacked the Imo state Governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha for the All Progressives Congress’ candidate, Hope Uzodinma.

As leaders of political thought, we had expected former president Goodluck Jonathan and governor Nyesom Wike to condemn the judicial usurper that took place in Imo state that made our great party to lose a governor.

It is worthy of note that former President Jonathan has often been described as the true reflection of democracy in Nigeria and as such, we expected him to voice out his opinion on matters, such as this, which make mockery of our judiciary system.

Governor Nyesom Wike, we understand, is a supposed friend of the ousted governor Emeka Ihedioha.

Wike and Former President Jonathan’s silence in condemning this anti-democratic move by the APC through a well-orchestrated judicial manipulation to gift the APC candidate, Hope Uzodinma, votes that were never cast for him is not a welcome development.

It was Martin Luther King who once said: In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies but the silence of our friends.

This is no time to play political correctness when we are faced with people that are determined to destroy our very sacred institution.

The Judiciary plays a very important role in every democratic society. The Judiciary ought to provide impartial adjudications of disputes between the state and individuals, between individuals, and between different levels of government within the state. If the Judiciary which serves as a foundation for the rule of law and democracy is destroyed and men of good conscience stay silent, then there is trouble.
