Melaye’s Cars Were His Only ‘Achievement’ As Senator – Adeyemi

Smart Adeyemi and Dino Melaye

Newly elected All Progressives Congress’s (APC) senator Smart Adeyemi on Sunday said the man he defeated in the recently held Kogi West senatorial election did nothing to merit re-election, describing him as “the worst senator Nigeria ever produced.”

Senator Adeyemi said this on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

Adeyemi said People’s Democratic Party’s Dino Melaye’s only achievement as a senator was the purchase of expensive cars for personal use.

According to him “Dino is not a good representation of the people of Kogi West,”.

“Dino did nothing since he was there rather than buying cars and showing it (sic) to the Nigerian people.”

Melaye often posted pictures of his expensive cars in his garage on his social media pages.

Sen Adeyemi quizzed his rival on how he was able to acquire the exotic cars between 2015 and 2019.

Recall that the previous Kogi west Election conducted by the independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on November 16 was declared inconclusive due to violence and killings that characterized the exercise, which warranted a rerun Election.

Meanwhile, in a re-rerun contest, Adeyemi of the All Progressive Congress defeated Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party.

But Melaye said Adeyemi’s victory is “temporal and evaporative,” vowing to contest the result announced by INEC in court.

Melaye described the November 16 Election as a fraud that would not stand.

Let’s watch what will be your achievement there. We all know Dino was a thorn in the flesh of Buhari, he never ceased to speak against the excesses of Buhari and his cohorts

Ihedioha Returns To Supreme Court

Published

on

Former Gov. Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State has vowed to return to the Supreme Court to prove that Senator Hope Uzodinma was never candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the last gubernatorial election.

It would be recalled that the apex court had ruled and affirmed Hope Uzodinma who came fourth in the March election on January 14th.

Ihedioha will be approaching the Apex Court based on the following grounds to prove that there was miscarriage of Justice in its ruling.

1. Uzodinma was not an APC candidate and was not a candidate of any party in the 9th March Governorship election in Imo State based on the judgement of the same Supreme Court on 20th December 2019.

2. The former deputy speaker also avowed that Uche Nwosu was declared as the rightful candidate of APC and AA and was disqualified for double candidature.

3. That APC couldn’t have produced 2 candidates in one election.

4. That the Supreme Court have no powers to allocate votes to any candidate.

5. That Supreme Court have no power to increase the number of people accredited by INEC.

6. That somebody that was not a candidate cannot be winner of an election he was not a candidate.

7. That Nigerian Police have no powers to organize elections in Nigeria.

8. That results tendered by a police officer cannot be admitted in any court as exhibit as he was not INEC officer.

Based on the above facts that are still subsisting, Ihedioha and PDP have applied for review of the apex court ruling.
