Popular media personality, Daddy Freeze has countered General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who during the week, said one of the things he must do before he dies is to build a church as big as Ibadan city in Oyo state.
Preaching on the third day of the Holy Ghost Congress 2019 holding at the Redemption Campground, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Pastor Adeboye said he has a plan of building a church as big as Ibadan. According to him, no one should believe he is dead until that is done.
Freeze has now countered his dream. In a post shared on his Instagram page this evening, Freeze said what Nigeria needs now are factories and not more church edifices as he already has enough of that.
Read his post below;
GOD DOES NOT LIVE IN HOUSES BUILT BY HIMAN HANDS!!!
This in my opinion, is a selfish ambition (scripturally selfish ambitions are in the same category as witchcraft and sexual orgies), that does nothing for Christians, rather I see it as a quest to turn believers into beasts of burden!
? Galatians 5:20 ?
New International Version
idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
The more I think about it, the angrier I get. Adeboye wants to use 3,080 square kilometers to build a church or a bigger business center, which one???
In this poverty riddled land, with more people in extreme poverty than China and India combined (according to worldpoverty.io), couldn’t he at least have been a little more creative????
We need factories the size of Ibadan NOT churches, we have way too many churches already.
With 10 churches on each street, we have so much religion, so much hunger and underdevelopment yet so little love.?
WE ARE THE CHURCH, NOT A BUILDING, the church is not the ‘house of God’, it’s just a building and God does not live in temples built with human hands.
? Acts 7:48 ?
New Living Translation
However, the Most High doesn’t live in temples made by human hands. As the prophet says,
? Acts 17:24 ?
New Living Translation
“He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples,
? 2 Corinthians 5:1 ?
New International Version
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
? Hebrews 9:11 ?
New Living Translation
So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world.
Policeman Shoots Driver In Imo After N50 Bribe Mistakenly Dropped On The Floor
A businessman and driver, Mr. Justice Eke, has escaped death by the whiskers when an officer of the Imo State Police Command has allegedly shot him for letting a N50 bribe offered to the officer drop on the floor.
The incident, which happened on Wednesday near Airport Junction along Owerri-Aba Express Road, saw the driver bleeding profusely as he lost control of the vehicle and skidded to a halt into the nearby bush.
While the trigger-happy police officer was escaping, he cocked his gun and threatened to shoot anyone who attempted to attack him.
It was gathered that the incident attracted other drivers, passersby and villagers and halted vehicular movement on the road for several hours before the team leader of the Mopol 88, Inspector Festus Omoruwa, was compelled by the passersby to take the victim to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri.
When The Nation correspondent visited him at the FMC, the victim, a native of Umuoye Enyiogugu in Aboh Mbaise council area of the state and fish seller, said he was heading to a nearby market when the tragedy struck.
He said the police team mounted checkpoint and usual demanded N50 bribe from him.
“I brought out the N50 and as my car was moving slowly, I handed him the money. Mistakenly, the money did not reach his hand before falling on the ground.
“To my surprise, this infuriated the policeman as he ordered me to come down and pick up the money.
“You know, many vehicles were on line and moving slowly. I expected him to pick up the money. But, instead, he shot me almost from close range at the back of my chest,” Eke said.
He added that what saved his life was his seat, as according to him, the bullet pierced through the seat before hitting him.
“I thank God for everything. Without that, I think I could have been a dead man by now because of my own N50 which I gave out to the policeman”
Speaking with journalists at the state police command headquarters, Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Fafowora, said the command under his supervision would take drastic approach against police extortion and other vices along major roads in the state.
He added that the command under his watch would ensure absolute respect for human right at all times, as his command would not condone any form of incivility to members of the public or other unethical or unprofessional act or misconduct.

Delivery Man Caught On Camera Spitting On Customer’s Pizza
A Turkish prosecutor called for a sentence of up to 18 years for a delivery man who spat on a customer’s pizza before handing it over, local media reported Thursday.
The incident — which happened in 2017 in the central city of Eskisehir — was captured by a security camera in the customer’s apartment block, according to news agency DHA.
The footage showed the delivery man, identified as Burak S., spitting on the pizza and recording the moment on his mobile phone. His motive was unknown.
The defendant has already been fined 4,000 lira (600 euros) for endangering a customer’s health, and prosecutors are now seeking a lengthy prison sentence for “poisoning food”, DHA reported.
The owner of the apartment building alerted the customer after watching the security footage, prompting the criminal complaint.
Even by Turkey’s often tough judicial standards, the requested sentence is heavy, given that “membership of an armed terrorist organisation” carries a sentence of up to 15 years.
