Pastors Allegedly Stop Mother From Praying For Her Dead Baby At The Altar In PH Because She Couldn’t Identify Herself As A Member

Published

Pastors of a Port Harcourt church  have been called out for stopping a grieving mother from praying for her dead baby at the church’s altar.

Social media user, Original Shewawa, took to her page to reveal how Pastors at Salvation Ministries, GRA, Port Harcourt allegedly prevented a mother whose 3-weeks-old baby was pronounced dead at a hospital from running to pray to God at the altar of the church because she couldn’t prove she was a member of the church.

I’ve always wondered how people get the energy to talk about their grief online.

I would say that if I lost a loved one , tweeting about it would be the last thing on my mind.

But I’m just here to talk about one aspect of the tragedy yesterday because yes, I’m enraged. Yes, I want the world to hear of this wickedness.

After my beautiful nephew was pronounced dead at the hospital, my sister and brother-in-law took him and ran to their church in desperation. All they wanted to do was lay him at the altar and pray to God. Cry out for our baby.

The pastors at Salvation Ministries, GRA, Port Harcourt stopped them from entering the church. They started asking them questions like: ” Where you married here?” “Did the baby get baptized here?” Etc. My family, along with neigbour and friends, were pleading…

With these people to just open the doors or pray for them. A particular pastor said to my mum: “How can you go to Zenith bank and ask for First bank account?” As though God is a transactional service that only deals with his own customers.

They refused to open the doors, pray for my devastated family or even show the tiniest compassion. Instead they sent them away because they couldn’t prove they were members of the church.

My family and I are together now. We’ve sent our angel to God and we are trying to process all that happen. I just wanted to say this because we’ve really forgotten the true meaning of Christianity. It’s not about denominations or what church you go to or judging people

If you can’t show kindness to a grieving mother with a dead baby, you’re worse than the devil himself.

Woman To Be Banished From Delta Community For Reporting Her Husband Who Allegedly Had Sex & Impregnated Their 14-Year-Old Daughter

Published

on

Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, has written an open letter to the Delta state government for immediate action to be taken as members of a community in the state hace concluded plans to barnish a young woman who reported her husband after he allegedly had sex, impregnated and procured an abortion for their 14 year old daughter, Chidinma.

According to Gwamnishu, the crime was committed sometime in 2010 and the suspect is still in prison. Read his open letter below:

OPEN LETTER TO:
1. GOVERNOR IFEANYI OKOWA
Executive Governor Delta State

2. HON. BARR. PETER MRAKPOR
Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Delta State.

3. HIS ROYAL MAJESTY EMMANUEL EFEIZOMO II
Chairman Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers.

Mrs. Grace Eze’s husband raped their 14 years old daughter sometime ago and the said rape led to the said daughter’s pregnancy. The pregnancy was aborted at the instance of Mrs Eze’s husband in a bid to cover-up his iniquitous acts.

When Mrs. Grace Eze found out about the crime her husband had committed, especially in view of the sensitive nature as it involved the rape of a minor, it became imperative for detailed investigation, especially medical investigations, so as to ensure that the victim was free from any medical conditions; and indeed that the culprit faces the law for the embarrassment he had brought to his family and entire Deltans.

Flowing from the foregoing facts, Mrs. Grace Eze first reported the matter to husband relatives and Behind Bars Human Rights Foundation reported to the Police in fulfilment of our constitutional duty to report the suspected commission of crimes, and in a bid to secure professional guidance for a detailed medical investigation of her daughter’s health and emotional status.

We were extremely embarrassed and disappointed when we found out that some community leaders had summoned Mrs Grace Eze and gave her a list of items to compulsorily provide to “cleanse the land” because she reported her husband to the human rights and sought help for her daughter. The said list of items is herein annexed to this letter for your kind perusal.

Mrs. Grace Eze was further threatened that if she failed to comply with the directives of the said community leaders, she will be banished from the community and severely dealt with.

Worthy of note is the fact that the family of the person who committed the rape and orchestrated an abortion, has not been summoned to provide any items to “cleanse the land”. (The man still in Prison custody).

We see what is at play as a conscious effort to cover-up a crime and victimize Mrs. Grace Eze.

We are very aware of your influence and astute leadership in your and therefore urge you to intervene immediately in this case so as to salvage the image of this community and put a stop to the imminent threats Mrs Grace Eze has received from her community leaders.

We have elected not to petition the community leaders to the National Human Rights Commission, as well as proceed to court in a bid to safeguard and defend the fundamental rights of Mrs Grace Eze because we are confident that you will intervene and see that justice is done. No citizen of our country should be punished for exercising her constitutional or legal rights.

Kindly accept the expression of our esteemed regards as we look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely

Harrison Gwamnishu,
Director-General.

The Nasarawa Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), has arrested a 26-year-old man for attempting to kill his biological mother in Lafia, the state’s capital.

Parading the suspect identified as Kamaldin Abu Sabo before newsmen, the State’s NSCDC commandant, Mahmud Gidado Fari said he threatened to kill his mother on numerous occassions.

Fari added: “That is why we have arrested him and would soon charge him to court. It is wrong for anybody to say that he would kill another person. What makes this case different is that she is his biological mother”

The suspect who denied the allegation against him, accused him elder brother of reporting him to the agency.

Kamaldin said: “I am living on Shendam Road in Lafia. I dropped out from Government College Keffi. I am a Tailor and did not attempt to kill my biological mother. And I did not agree with the statement of the NSCDC that my mother reported me; it was my elder brother who reported me to the NSCDC.
