Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Kidnap Man After Forcing His Wife To Cook Rice For Them In Delta

Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a male resident of Okpanam community of Delta state.

Residents of the community revealed that the recent abduction was the second attack in the Delta community in the last few days.

Narrating how the incident happened, the wife of the kidnap victim said the kidnappers brandished guns during the attack.

The wife disclosed that they forced her to cook, after which they left with her husband, all his shoes and all her jewelries.

Wife of the kidnap further revealed that they spoke their language while at her home when asked how she knew they were Fulani herdsmen.

She also accused the DPO and other police officers of giving excuses when she called to report the matter.

As at the time of filing this report, the kidnappers have contacted their victim’s family to demand for ransom.

Man Electrocuted In Abia Few Weeks To Wedding

A middle-aged man identified simply as Chukwudi has been electrocuted few weeks to his wedding.

The incident was said to have occurred at Opobo Road, along the Ogbor Hills axis of the commercial nerve centre of the state.

It was gathered that the deceased whose traditional marriage was some weeks ahead after discovering that there was power supply in his neighbourhood while there was no electricity supply in his apartment started looking for a ladder to apparently switch to the next active line.

Reports have it that while he was on the electric pole trying to rectify the problem, power was restored on the former line.

“While on top of the pole, he was said to have rested his ladder on an electric-powered barbwire which triggered electric shock when power was restored.

“He was trapped between the pole and the electrified barbwire, making it difficult for him to escape or even for people to come to his rescue and by the time he was eventually brought down, he was dead,” a source said.

In another development, a middle-aged man whose name was given as Ugochukwu Egwuatu has been reportedly killed by his kinsman.

The incident was said to have taken place in Ohuhu Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State.

Egwuatu was said to have had some minor squabbles with his kinsman, Chimankpa Nwogu, popularly known in the area as ‘Tallest’ who reportedly nursed animosity against the deceased for some time.

It was gathered that Chimankpa, who is now at large allegedly confronted the late Egwuatu at a venue of a traditional marriage where he (the deceased) was invited in Ohuhu Nsulu community.

A source disclosed that at the venue of the traditional marriage, the duo engaged in a fierce verbal exchange which perhaps was triggered off by their earlier minor misunderstanding.

The suspect was said to have during the verbal exchange, inflicted machete wounds on Egwuatu and he bled to death before any help could come his way.

VIDEO: Nigerian Businessman Beaten To Death In India

A Nigerian man had been reportedly beaten to death in Palam, New Delhi, India.

According to reports, the businessman, identified as Sunny Mike, was beaten to death on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.

His brutal death has received the attention of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).

Local media claimed Mike was beaten to death by a mob after an Indian lady accused him of theft, prompting passers-by to beat him till he passed out.

The businessman had died before the arrival of the police at the scene and his body was immediately moved to the morgue while friends and family members took to social media to demand justice.

Reacting to Sunny Mike’s death, a video of the brutal beating was shared by NIDCOM and disclosed that the Nigerian mission in India is aware and currently investigating the incident.

“Our attention has been drawn to above incident of a Nigerian brutally beaten up in Delhi, India.

The Nigerian mission in India is aware and are currently investigating the circumstances. We call on Nigeria Community in India to be calm as the Mission is aware.”

Gang Of Monkeys Attack Lab Assistant, Escape With COVID-19 Samples

A gang of monkeys attacked a laboratory assistant and escaped with a batch of coronavirus test samples, it has been reported.

The bizarre incident saw the troop of primates launch their assault near Meerut Medical College in Delhi, India.

According to local media, the animals then snatched COVID-19 test samples from three patients and fled.

One of the monkeys was later spotted in a tree chewing one of the sample collection kits, the Times of India reported – adding that test samples from the patients had to be taken again.

It is the latest example of the highly intelligent, red-faced rhesus macaques taking advantage of India’s nationwide lockdown to combat the spread of coronavirus.

While they have proved an increasing problem in urban areas of the country in recent years, lockdown measures in the last two months have emboldened the monkeys.

Reports have shown them congregating in parts of Delhi normally crowded with humans.
