Nigerian Photographer Confirms That He Tested Positive For COVID-19 After Attending AMVCA

Seun O, the Nigerian photographer who underwent a Coronavirus test after attending the 7th edition of the AMVCA weeks ago, has confirmed that he tested positive for Coronavirus in new Instagram posts he shared.

Recall that a few weeks ago, a documentary producer warned of a suspected case of coronavirus who might have attended the AMVCA and interacted with a number of Nigerian celebrities.

According to Ifeoma Chukwuogo, the man flew in from the UK and with symptoms of coronavirus but had refused to report himself to the NCDC for testing.

Seun O who confirmed that he has been feeling unwell after Ifeoma’s post, shared a video of him undergoing a Coronavirus test but never confirmed his status at that time.

In a new Instagram post he shared, the photographer revealed that he is receiving treatment for Coronavirus at Yaba Isolation Center.

He wrote;

A message from the Lagos Covid-19 Gang (Coranavirus patients currently in Ward B) at the Infectious Disease Hospital (Coronavirus Isolation Center) Yaba, Lagos. We are doing great and are in high spirit. Shout out to all the healthcare professionals, cleaners, porters, security and all the staff at the Yaba Infectious Disease Hospital. We celebrate you all!

In an another Instagram he shared, Seun disclosed that an executive director at a multinational company, pilots, former commissioner and a driver are all Coronavirus patients at the isolation center.

He wrote;

Inside The Lagos Isolation Center

My first 24 hours at the Isolation Center in Yaba, Lagos. I will try as much as possible to keep you updated with daily developments while I’m here. There has been great camaraderie amongst us in my ward. We are an assortment of characters from different walks of life. From an executive director at a multinational company, pilots, former commissioner to a driver. The age margin is wide and varies from teenager to early 60’s yet we cohabit seamlessly in one accord. The doctors, nurses and all hospital staff are the real MVPs, they have been glorious.

#JusticeForUwa: Police Arrest One Of The Suspects Linked To Rape And Murder Of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa [VIDEO]

One of the suspects linked to the rape and murder of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa has been arrested by police officers attached to the Edo state police command.

Recall that the 22-year-old 100-level student of the University of Benin, Edo State was raped and killed while reading in a church in Benin city.

Spokesman of Edo police command, Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the arrest while speaking to newsmen. He said the suspect was arrested after the deceased was rushed to the hospital and the fingerprint on the fire extinguisher she was attacked with was examined.

Nwabuzor said the suspect was apprehended after the Area Commander of Ikpoba Hill mobilized his men to take action.

“Wear Agbada Or Caftan” — Doctor Jokes About Rape, Blames Women For Causing Rape By What They Wear

A Nigerian medical doctor has made distasteful comments about rape, as he joked about it while blaming women for causing rape by what they wear.

The brutal rape and murder of Uwa Omozuwa, has been condemned by Nigerians all over the country. The victim was said to have been raped on Friday 29th May near Ikpoba Hill in Benin City, at her church, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

According to reports gathered, the deceased had gone to the church to read as she prepared for the possible school resumption after months of staying at home as a result of the lockdown order.

The perpetrators were said to have attacked her at the RCCG Ohovbe road branch, raped and smashed her head with a fire extinguisher, leaving her for dead.

A Twitter user has now shared the screenshot of her chat with a medical doctor, who blamed women for being raped based on what they wear.

In the chat, the doctor suggested that women should “wear agbada or caftan” to prevent rape. He added that “many times they attract it to themselves.”

When asked if he understands what rape means he joked that it’s “the act when a female seduces a male to have an erection, then she runs away.”

Some Nigerians have also made distasteful comments about rape, a Nigerian man, G Love Udenso, has boasted of being a rapist, as he wrote on Facebook that he would continue to rape women anytime the opportunity presents itself.

He made the statement while reacting to the gruesome death of Uwa Omazuwa, the University of Benin student who was raped and murdered inside in a church in Benin, Edo state.

He also stated that girls should not wear pants so as to help him carry out his rape activity without stress.

He wrote in Nigerian Pidgin English,

“I go dey rape dey go. Nothing go happen. Ladies make una help us small. No dey wear pants come weat tight on top. E dey waste person time abeg.Thank you.”

#JusticeForUwa: I’ll Continue To Rape Women — Man Boasts On Facebook

A Nigerian man, G love Udenso, has boasted of being a rapist, as he wrote on Facebook that he would continue to rape women anytime the opportunity presents itself.

He made the statement while reacting to the gruesome death of Uwa Omazuwa, the University of Benin student who was raped and murdered inside in a church in Benin, Edo state.

He also stated that girls should not wear pants so as to help him carry out his rape activity without stress.

He wrote in Nigerian Pidgin English,

“I go dey rape dey go. Nothing go happen. Ladies make una help us small. No dey wear pants come weat tight on top. E dey waste person time abeg.Thank you.”

As at the time of filing this report, his location is still unknown.

Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, in its reaction to the murder of Uwa, condemned the act and called on the law enforcement agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and made to face justice.

The statement reads:

The leadership of NANS Zone B, with a loud voice condemn the raped to death of Uwa Omazuwa an undergraduate student of University of Benin who died after being raped inside Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Report reaching the Zonal Secretariat by the Edo State Zonal Representative, said on the 27th of may 2020, the victim, Uwa Omazuwa, visited the RCCG Edo province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin, where she was reading, some men were reported to have made their way into the church auditorium where they struck her in the head with a fire extinguisher, raped her and ran away.

A security guard at the church reportedly found her in a pool of blood and informed his superiors at the church.

The 22-year-old victim, who was unconscious, was rushed to the university teaching hospital where she narrated her ordeal, she however, succumbed to her injuries three days later.

The case was reported at the Oregbeni Police station, Benin.

According to friend of the deceased, she recently gained admission into the university of Benin and yet to do matriculation before the gruesome act that led to her untimely time death on May 30th, 2020.

The leadership of the Zone call on the security operatives to investigate and bring the culprits to face the law.

While we sympathies with the family of the deceased and pray the almighty God give them the heart to bear this great lost.
