Abia Wanted COVID-19 Patient Comes Out Of Hiding

Emmanuel Ononiwu, the COVID-19 patient who was declared wanted by the Abia State Government after he bolted from a holding facility in Aba has reportedly submitted himself to the medical team for treatment.

This was disclosed Saturday afternoon by the Information Commissioner; Chief John Okiyi-Kalu.

According to Okiyi-Kalu, Ononiwu is now in medical custody and currently at the isolation center in Amachara, Umuahia South Local Government Area of the state.

Ononiwu was said to have reported at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Aba, with his family, including his wife, at 8.05am Saturday.

He was said to have been immediately moved by a state rapid response ambulance to the Abia State Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Center, Amachara, Umuahia, for isolation and management.

Samples will be collected from his wife and other family members for testing while active contract tracing has commenced.

Meanwhile, three patients who are currently at the isolation center, including the 19 years old man from Afugiri, Umuahia, 30 years old man from Ofeme, Umuahia, and the Olokoro Umuahia returnee from Lagos who came to plan the burial of a relation who died in Kano have recovered.

They have tested negative to the virus two consecutive times and are expected to leave the facility Saturday, as arrangements have been concluded at the time of filing the report, for them to leave isolation facility.

Ibrahim Magu Moves His Belongings Out Of Official Residence

The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has moved his personal belongings out of official residence in Maitama.

Credible sources have confirmed to TVC News that security agencies in two vehicles visited his personal residence in Karu and may have been looking for incriminating documents.

It is not clear if they have visited his official residence in maitama, but TVC News reports that Mr Magu has removed his personal effects from the Maitama house

The seven-man panel has concluded its sitting today with a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Kanu Agabi representing Mr Ibrahim Magu.

It is still unclear why Mr Magu is being held and has not returned to his personal or official residence.

BREAKING: Ondo Assembly Suspends Deputy Speaker, One Lawmaker

The Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Iroju Ogundeji has been suspended.

Ogundeji was suspended alongside another member of the House, Hon. Adewale Williams.

The two lawmakers were suspended by the leadership of the House on Wednesday during plenary for unruly behaviour.

The affected lawmakers were among the nine lawmakers who did not sign the impeachment notice against the embattled Deputy Governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi.

Recall that the Political fireworks began on Monday in Ondo as lawmakers in the House of Assembly commenced impeachment processes against the Deputy Governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi.

A total of 14 lawmakers supported the impeachment, nine lawmakers kicked against the impeachment while three lawmakers stayed away from the drama.

The deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi was said to be served a notice of impeachment.

In the impeachment notice signed by the 14 lawmakers, they accused Ajayi of gross misconduct, abuse of office with action likely to bring down Ondo state government, financial recklessness, abandonment of office, official duties and other assignments, carrying out actions on Sunday 2st 2020, likely to cause breach of peace in reference to 1983 political crisis with the intent to incite the citizens against the government of Ondo state and endorsing publications dated Tuesday 23rd June 2020 maligning the credibility of the legislative arm of government of cash inducement.

The lawmakers also said there was a petition from the Ondo chapter of the APC on Ajayi’s defection to the PDP, having sworn in as the deputy governor on the party’s ticket with Mr. Governor for a four year term.
